FLAVORWOOD AND 4-H FUNDRAISING
In almost every community in
In harsh economic times, like those now affecting most communities in the nation, successful fundraising efforts mean the difference between groups achieving their program objectives or not.
Like your organization, Flavorwood attempts to contribute to the well-being of the community in which it is located and to those where its products are sold. The manufacturing work force of Flavorwood is comprised entirely of persons with physical and/or mental disabilities. We employ such persons for two reasons: (1) we provide employment opportunities for people who otherwise find it difficult to find rewarding work and (2) Flavorwood gains incredibly productive and reliable employees.
Flavorwood wishes to contribute more than simply making work opportunities available to deserving people. Therefore, we have designed a program that enables community-based organizations to effectively use our products to benefit their fundraising activities. The attached pages briefly outline this program.
Flavorwood is the modern way to bring the flavor of natural wood smoke to the barbecue grill. Designed for use in charcoal or gas grills, Flavorwood is easy-to-use; produces no messy ash residue; requires limited storage space; is convenient to carry; generally can be used more than one time; requires no clean-up time; and, unlike wood chips, does not have to be soaked in water before use. Simply remove the top and side labels; place the can under the grill grate directly on the heat source; and, within a few minutes, the can will produce a steady stream of natural wood smoke for about one hour.
Why should you consider Flavorwood for your fundraising activities?
Sincerely,
Flavorwood, LLC

Columbia County Arkansas 4-H members sell Flavorwood to raise money

Funds raised will partially offset cost of camps, competitions, 4-H project books, and other 4-H expenses.
Flavorwood is a compressed wood product used to produce smoke while grilling foods. It can be used with charcoal or gas grills. Each can is about the size of a tuna fish can and will produce up to an hour of smoke. It can be reused if used for a shorter period of time.
There is no soaking of the wood required. Remove the labels and peel the seal from the top of the can then place it on the grill at least 5 minutes before cooking.
Flavorwood is available in mesquite, hickory, apple, pecan, peach, or cherry woods. It comes with suggestions as to what type of meats should be used with each wood.
4-H is selling Flavorwood in 6 packs or 12 packs. The packs may consist of a single wood type, a sampling of each wood type, or other combinations depending on what the customer wants.
The product is being sold for $15 for a 6 pack and $25 for a 12 pack.
